Chocolate Almond Pecan & Cashew Nut Butter

Nut butters make for fantastic mid-afternoon snacks with sliced apple, bananas or on a piece of toast. They're satiating, antioxidant releasing, protein rich and provide essential nutrients required for many metabolic processes within the body. Studies have also found that nuts can reduce cholesterol and when eaten in appropriate portion sizes, reduce inflammation in the body.  I stumbled across this beauty of a recipe when trying to use up leftover nuts in my pantry. You can use any combination of nuts but I think the pecans add an extra special flavour to this simple spread. The real trick is not devouring it all in one go! 

 


Ingredients

1/2 cup cashews 

1/2 cup pecans

1/2 cup almonds

3 heaped tbs raw caco powder

1 tbs coconut oil

pinch sea salt

 

 

Method

Place all of the ingredients in a high powdered blender. Blitz for 5-15 minutes, or until smooth. Adjust the flavour with honey and/or more cacao powder. Store in a sealed jar.
